The
Student Body
Our students span a wide range of ages,
races, colors, creeds, nationalities and
professions. They come to us to
learn music for fun, for therapy, or for
a career. Some of our students have
near-genius potential; others have a
variety of problems. We have as many
adult students as children. Adults
experience a great deal of satisfaction
when they decide to learn a musical
instrument that they have wanted to play
all their life. At Sdoia-Satz, the
concept that “Mommy” or “Grandma is
studying the saxophone” is very common.
Studying music brings fulfillment, a
sense of accomplishment and purpose to
the lives of adults and senior citizens
as well as children. ♫
For everyone, music is a great
hobby. Some of our students are still in
school. Others are doctors, lawyers,
clergy, police officers, even
professional entertainers. Some have
appeared on television and a few have
even played before royalty. However, we
also have some students who would not
want to play even for their own family.
♫
High schools and colleges in the area
send us prospective students for
intensive preparation. Bandleaders and
professional musicians send us family
members. Performers come for audition,
and demo training. Doctors refer
patients for music lessons as physical
or emotional therapy. The majority of
our students, however, are just ordinary
people who love music and want to learn.
What better reason is there? ♫
