Performance Preparation
for

Professionals and Semi-Professionals

Sdoia-Satz Music Institute trains and/or coaches professional performers, semi professionals, (and students who want to become professional) for auditions, competitions, demos, theatre, TV, radio, movies and club work. Training/coaching may entail developing stage presence and confidence, choosing suitable material, composing music and/or creating arrangements, memory work, microphone control, stage movement, voice training, diction, and projection.  It is available both individually and for groups that want to perform together.

Conventional music instruction is different from coaching.  Conventional instruction refers to weekly one or two-hour sessions which continue for a long period of time, while a student gradually advances from a lower level to a higher level of ability. It includes  all phases of music: theory, history, notation, performance, musicianship, pitch, rhythm, and so on.

Coaching is generally a short term arrangement (a few weeks or a few months) and is designed to address a particular situation and/or a particular short-term goal.   Coaching is beneficial only for those  who  have already had a great deal of instruction, are very advanced in their musical field, and  wish to develop one or two specific aspects of their performance. At Sdoia-Satz Music Institute, (The Husky Gang School), each student is special to us, and a program is developed for each one with his/her own needs and desires in mind.

Regardless of age, prior to being accepted as a student, each candidate must pass our comprehensive two-hour Sdoia-Satz Music Aptitude Test (SSMAT). Unlike other tests which assess achievement, the SSMAT examines untrained, natural, musical aptitude and potential.
